The day is designed to inspire and bring together people of all ages. You are welcome to leave your pennants for a collective garland that will decorate the city center during VÄV2025, but you’re equally free to keep the pennant you weave.

For whom: All ages, regardless of prior experience.

How: The weaving is done without a loom, using a cardboard base. Feel free to bring your own leftover yarn, fabric strips, and a large crochet hook. Materials will also be available on-site.

The workshop is offered in collaboration with Länsmuseet Gävleborg, Svenska Vävrådet, Spångmurs, and Gävle Municipality in preparation for the grand weaving fair VÄV2025, coming to Gävle on September 25–27. The aim is to encourage more people to try their hand at weaving while promoting the health benefits of crafting.
